San Antonio Event Calendar
St. Patrick’s Day Weekend / Dyeing the River Green / St. Patrick’s River Parades
Presented By:
San Antonio River Walk / Visit San Antonio
Dates:
March 15, 2025 – March 16, 2025
Starting at Mad Dogs British Pub
Each year since 1968 the River Walk is magically transformed into the River Shannon through 25-gallons of eco-friendly green dye. This is a popular event on social media, and the transformation is fun to watch while sitting outdoors along a cafe or bar patio. A bagpiper plays on the dye boat as the river transforms into an emerald green color. Free viewing along the entire 2 ½ mile downtown portion of the River Walk.
Join us as we kick off the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in the most spectacular way by turning the San Antonio River Walk bright green! With 25 gallons of eco-friendly dye, our beautiful river transforms into a dazzling shade of emerald, mirroring the legendary River Shannon in Ireland.
Be part of the magic, soak in the festive vibes, and celebrate St. Paddy’s in true San Antonio style!
