Visit The Alamo in San Antonio

Many people visiting the Riverwalk also visit the Alamo in San Antonio. It is less than a block away from many areas on the river and a must see when visiting San Antonio. The Shrine of Texas Liberty is a beautiful sight be it daytime or night. You can visit The Alamo grounds at any time during their operating hours however to enter the Church requires a reservation. Reservations are free and can be done at their Alamo Welcome Center when you arrive, or in advance at the link below. We highly recommend making a reservation to visit the Church in advance of your arrival there.

Their hours of operations are:

Alamo Grounds: 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Alamo Gift Shop: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Collections Center closes at 5 p.m.
Closed Christmas Day
Last entry is 30 minutes prior to closing

It is free to visit the Alamo Church, Long Barrack, and grounds. A free ticket is required to enter the Alamo Church. Upgraded experiences include entrance into the Alamo Exhibit at the Ralston Family Collections Center, the Remember the Alamo™️ Guided Tour, and the A Line in the Sand™️ Self-Guided Experience.

The Ralston Family Collections Center at The Alamo houses more than 500 artifacts, including from the Phil Collins Collection. This photo shows a Battle of the Alamo Diorama that is narrated by British rock star and Alamo enthusiast Phil Collins.
